E=Effects Gallery
The effects gallery is found under the view menu. When it is selected it will appear on the right side of your screen. You can temporarily hide and unhide the effects gallery, by using the arrow at the bottom under the various effects tabs.
There are seven tabs in the effects gallery that let you control: style, font, fill, line, shadow, effects, and clipart.
- Style - Styles can be applied to shapes and text. You can select various different style from the drop down list at the top of the style gallery. Choose customize to modify the style.
- Font - This is pretty self explanatory. It lists all your installed fonts. At the bottom, you can change the text color, size, and formatting, or customize the way the text looks.
- Fill - The default is solid fills, but you can choose from several gradient fills from the drop down list at the top. At the bottom are options to customize a fill.
- Line - Lets you apply various line styles. The drop-down list at the top gives you more options and the controls at the bottom allow you to customize the lines.
- Shadow - choose from various shadow styles. The drop-down list at the top gives you more options and the controls at the bottom allow you to customize the shadow effect.
- Effect - Pick from several different special effect to apply to an image. When you pick an effect for text or a vector graphic, it will first be converted to an image. Experiment with these... they can be a lot of fun.
- Clipart - This brings up a media manager window within Draw where you can choose clipart from your collections and subjects. You change the collections and subjects from the drop down lists at the top. At the bottom you can click options to see the options for media manager. You can drag items to and from the clipart gallery.
