Dissecting Vector Images

Pick a graphic that you want to make changes to, then right click on it and choose ungroup.  Now each section is a separate object that you can recolor, move, resize, and edit the points.

In fact, I don't think you even need to ungroup the graphic to change the colors, you can double click on it and then there will be a blue box around it... then pick the piece you want to recolor and only that piece will be selected so you can change it.  The line and fill color will appear in the status bar area of the window, you click there to change it.
