Managing Media Manager
Pencil
Most of you know already that Media Manager creates files on your computer for storing it's thumbnails.  It creates an *.ECF file for each collection and an *.SBJ file for each subject.  These files are most likely found under X:\Micrografx\System3\Media Manager\ where X is the drive to which you installed Windows Draw.

Because of the way MM creates file names, it's often hard to know which SBJ and ECF file corresponds with your subjects and collections.  If you're like me... you've probably moved some graphics around and now you have media manager files that are no longer needed.  I went poking around today and I found out how you can tell which files go with what.

>From Media Manager, choose subjects and find the collection that you want to remove. Right click on the collection and choose properties. Under the collections tab, you will find the path and filename for the corresponding ECF file.  If you open an ECF file in a text editor like notepad, it will list all the subjects that fall under that collection, including the filenames for the SBJ files.

Using this information should help you when backing up and managing your media manager.
